Modern Teen Style | Mad. B Photography

Today’s featured session is from Madeline Baete of Mad. B Photography

I am in love with this session!  I saw it in my Facebook feed and asked Madeline to submit it!

Here is what Madeline had to say about this session:

For this shoot, I really wanted to showcase what back to school is all about, having fun with friends! We decided to shoot out near the football field, and I love the light we were able to capture. I had each of the girls put together an outfit that to them represented going back to school, and I think they all nailed it! I wanted to really show off how the girls would look for an average day of a school. So we just kept hair and makeup natural and let them do it themselves. Nothing more authentic than the real deal, and their beautiful, fresh faces!

The gear used:

I shoot with a Canon 60D, with a 50mm 1.2 lens. I shot natural light. I have been really into playing more with light lately, so for a few of our shots I used fractal filters to really get some cool effects.

What inspired this session?

Back to school, graphic tee’s, converse, and school busses. Just the feel of heading back to school after the summer to have fun with friends.

Modern Teen Style | Janice Louise Photography

Today’s featured session is from Janice Jester of Janice Louise Photography!

I love how beautiful this session is!

Here is what Janice had to say about this session:

This summer teen session was photographed with a ballerina wearing a vintage gown in a Delaware lavender field.

The gear used:

Canon Markiii
Canon 70-200mm

What inspired this session?

This past winter, we had a snowfall in Delaware that lasted more than a day before melting. I asked Ari if she would be interested in doing a styled ballerina session while the snow was still on the ground. She was an absolute trooper, withstanding the bitter 10 degree temperature . I couldn’t believe how natural she was in front of my camera, even amidst her shivers and goosebumps. I knew I had to photograph her once again, so when the weather started to warm up, I scheduled a session with her. I frequent thrift stores in my area looking for unique wardrobe options for future sessions. I had found this white, lace, vintage strapless gown a few years ago, but never found anyone who in which it would fit. When I tried it on my sweet ballerina, it zipped up perfectly. The femininity of the dress needed a beautiful location, so we went to the the Lavender Fields at Warrington Manor in Milton, Delaware. I had always wanted to shoot there, but I never timed it appropriately. But this time, the lavender was at peak and smelled heavenly.

Modern Teen Style | Belle Marie Photography

Today’s featured session is from Belle Marie Photography!

When I saw this submission I fell in love with her clients style!

Here is what Olivia had to say about this session:

I met up with Kalista and her mom for this session in downtown Stillwater and we did a more urban look with the back alley area, then we changed into the ivory cream dress that I made myself.  I bought the shirt from Charlotte Russe and stained it with tea so it would match the skirt color since they only had it in white and it was so pretty.  I then created the tulle skirt and used an ivory, and light cream color together, and I bought the jewelry headpiece from Charming Charlie’s a few days prior to pull the princess look together.  We walked around downtown and went to the bridge in Stillwater.

Gear Used:

Nikon D600

85mm f/1.8

Spider holster,

Large reflector

Inspiration For The Session:

I was inspired to do a city session with a bit of glam since we were still in winter in Minnesota and the city doesn’t change a ton season to season so it is always a great time to do photos in the city as long as you can stand the cold for the session haha. I also really wanted a more casual grungy look and wanted to incorporate a bomber jacket since they are really fun and trendy right now.

Modern Teen Style | Gray Seniors

Today’s featured session is from Debbie Gray of Gray Seniors!

When I saw this submission I fell in love with it instantly and that car wow!

Here is what Debbie had to say about this session:

This gorgeous white car was the inspiration for this 50 styled shoot. Five members of my 2018 Gray Model Team, made up of 9th, 10th and 11th graders, participated. We met on the grounds of Fort Monroe, an former Army base in Hampton Virginia. The old homes and tree lined street made this spring session absolutely gorgeous! Even our unpredictable Virginia weather cooperated with warm temperatures in the upper 70’s. The hairstyles, wardrobe and vintage luggage helped to set the 50’s scene for these teens. Thanks to Mad Hatter Vintage Rentals for the vintage luggage set.

The gear used…

Canon 5D Mark3
50mm 1:1.2

Modern Teen Style | Sean Brown Productions

Today’s featured session is from Sean Brown!

It is no secret that we love Sean’s work and this session is absolutely perfect!

Here is what Sean had to say about the session…

This was such a perfect session as we were getting into the fall season!! This was a model shoot with one of my Class of 2018 Reps Alexa and was at the tail end of the summer as we were getting into the fall weather. As someone who lives in Vancouver, WA, which is in the Pacific Northwest, we never know when summer is going to end and the rain is going to begin for the next 9 months, so it was great to have amazing, sunny weather towards the end of senior season.

The gear used…

Canon 6D,

Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM

White/silver reflector

This session was inspired by…

This session was entirely inspired by the fall weather! We have had leaves turning since like July because of the crazy swings in weather and so we really wanted to emphasize the orange and reds that we get when the fall leaves change. Alexa did a perfect job of making sure her wardrobe selection reflected this and I couldn’t be happier with how her images turned out!

Hair and Makeup…

Modern Teen Style | Julie Patterson Photo

Today’s featured session is from Julie Patterson Photo!

I absolutely loved the color pop in these!

Here is what Julie had to say about the session…

Maddison is 14 years old and is on the Garden City Varsity Pom, she is so incredibly talented!! Maddison has always wanted to explore modeling, so we set up a time and met at a local park with gorgeous locations to match the style and vibe we were going for. Maddison reminds me of a young Vanessa Hudgens; I feel like they could be sisters! We picked and paired things that Maddison had in her closet to create each look! We wanted a boho vibe, a more natural look, and something that was a little more girly! I had so much fun working with Maddison, not only is she gorgeous, but she is such a sweet girl!

The gear used…

Canon 6D

50mm 1.8

This session was inspired by…

Nature was what inspired this session, I loved incorporating Maddison’s personal style into the shoot and making her eyes pop.  She has such gorgeous eyes!

Hair and Makeup…

Maddison did her own hair and makeup for the shoot.
