I don’t know about where you live, but where I am in Maryland, it’s so cold. I mean, hurts your face kind of cold. And we are preparing for Snowmageedan II this weekend. So, when thinking about what to write about this week, I couldn’t get the idea of being cold out of my head. I could have written about bathing suit styles for this summer (yes, suits are already out in the store) but I’m too cold. And my hands are dry. In fact, all my skin is dry from the heat being on and the wind outside. And let’s face it (see what I did there?) there’s nothing less fashionable than rough, dry skin. Here are 5 tips for keeping your skin its best during theses cold winter months.
Stay warm!

Hydrate!
It’s always a good idea to drink plenty of water and the winter is no exception. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and looking it’s best. Keep a glass by your bed or take one on the go with these adorable bottles. You can find buying information here.
Switch-Up Your Skin Care
Even though your skin may be naturally oily, be careful of putting too much added stress on it in the winter by using products that contain alcohol and other drying ingredients. You can still use non-greasy products by looking for facial moisturizers that are “oil free.” But maybe go easy on the toner as it can dry out your skin. And sunscreen is always a great idea, even in winter. The sun reflecting on snow can be harsh on your skin! Buy your products here.
Don’t Neglect your Hands and Feet!
I don’t know about you but my hands are so dry in the winter. I feel like I’m constantly putting lotion on…all day! And my feet are dry and cracked. So be sure to get some think, moisturizing cream and lather it all over! Put it on your feet at night and cover with socks and your feet will be super soft in the morning! Buying info here.
Add a Humidifier
There’s an easy way to get moisture back into the air in your house – get a humidifier! Heat can dry everything out and add the cold, windy air and you’ve got double trouble. Humidifiers are relatively inexpensive and sometimes, they are even cute! Find them here.
