Modern Teen Style…..In His Image Photography

Oh summer time, how I miss you! Winter can seem so long when you’re pining for the beautiful late and warm temperatures you find in images such as these. Today’s feature is classic summer and comes to use from In His Image Photography.

Shelley describes the session, “Kinadey, a junior this year, was one of my first “Teen Spirit” models. We shot this in July in the late evening and wanted to incorporate an Americana theme into the shoot as well as shooting in an abandoned elementary school that had a lot of sentimental elements for me. We also shot some country looks with the late evening sun and a she had a maxi dress that was adorable! Her shoot was full of laughter and she is such a spirited teen!

I wanted to shoot Americana because of the holidays and I also had been thinking about shooting in my first teaching assignment building which was abandoned now. She had lots of ideas while shooting and not afraid to try anything at all! We even braved the creaking floors and musty smells and shot part of our session in the Washington Elementary school that has been sitting empty for several years now. Kinadey’s grandma, who was with us on our shoot, and I both taught in the building for several years. We took a few in her grandma’s classroom and they turned out amazing! The photographs where not only fun to shoot but we were able to capture apart of history that will long be remembered because they have gone to print!”

Spotlight on Business | Tiffany Photography

The last Spotlight on Business for 2014 comes to us from Texas. Tiffany Photography is a fabulous Teen & Senior Photographer. Take a few minutes to read about what makes her business so great. As the new year approaches, most of us will be on the lookout for what we can do to make us better, to be a better photographer & to be a better business owner. Now is the time to set some goals and put into action the things we want to accomplish. I hope that 2015 will be the best year yet for you!

DSC_8101 copy-3

What is the most valuable business advice you have ever gotten?

Never worry about what others are doing. If you want to worry about someone, worry about yourself and your business – How is it doing and how can I improve myself. I have told myself time and time again, that in order to stand out from the crowd, you have to be unique! The sky is the limit!

DSC_6420 copy-1

In no more than 12 words, how would you describe your brand?

Bold, vibrant, classy, fab and glamorous!

tiffanyphotographycopy-3

Is there something special you do when your business reaches a goal?

Thank my Lord for everything he does, he is the one who creates wonders and miracles for us.

DSC_8129 copy-2

What is your favorite tool that helps run your studio?

Actually, that would be my right hand, my mother. She keeps me on my feet and pushes me to work harder and strive to be better at standing out. I believe she has been my biggest critic and I absolutely thank her for that. She’s the best tool/person to ever help run my business.

DSC_7338 copy-4

What product do you sell most of?

20×24 wall prints

tiffanyphotographycopy-5

How do you nurture your creativity?

Well, I love to ask my clients based on their attire to help choose my locations for their sessions. That may sound a little odd, but it does help me out a lot. Also, another thing is – I go on a hunting process to find different locations. Although, our town is a bit small so there are only so many places to choose from.

tiffanyphotographycopy

What is the best application investment you‘ve ever made?

To be honest, it’s all around Photoshop. It’s my best friend!

DSC_7505 copy-2

What is the best equipment investment you’ve ever made?

Ahhh, that would be my Nikon D800 – 85mm f1.4G and my incredible Ice-Light!

tiffanyphotographycopy-2

What’s your advice for better profits?

Well, before I was a big fan of the CD. Although, I have come to realize that prints are very important to me and the clients. Also, when clients go to any printer, prints are not the same and the quality is just blah! So, if you’re wanting to up your game and you’re still tied down to selling CD’s – change it. Prints, products, albums, storyboards, etc. are so much more fun to show off to your clients. Don’t get me wrong, if you want to sell the CD as an extra, by all means, do it! But first, show them their products and offer the disk as an extra product to purchase.

tiffanyphotographycopy-1

Have you had to change your game to stay ahead in the photography world?

Yes I have! I believe if you ever find something that is more valuable and helpful to your business, do it! I mean there are tons of ways to stay ahead and make your business grow to achieve your goal. Till this day, I’m learning something new everyday.

A HUGE thank you to our sponsor ReBooku. What a fabulous service they offer. I have personally used them more times than I can count this past year. Here are a few samples from Tiffany Photography and the way she was able to use their services. This is what Tiffany had to say:  “I chose the basic Re Retouch for my images, just a simple edit. I loved the final edit. They’re services are phenomenal, they were extremely fast!”

Modern Teen Style….Modern Monroe Portraiture

Oh my goodness. I’m loving this feature from Modern Monroe Portraiture. Stunning model and beautiful styling.

Heather from Modern Monroe Portraiture explains the session, “This session was actually set in and around my new home! Since I don’t have a studio yet, I wanted to make sure that the large windows in my living room would be able to produce that creamy, gorgeous light that I like to use for my glam sessions. It turned out perfectly and just the way I wanted. Emily was AMAZING to photograph. The rest of the images were shot outside on a VERY sunny day, so we did what we could to utilize the shaded areas. We used a few different head pieces to change up her look and Emily really pulled them off! We laughed, had fun and even got a few very itchy bug bites to remind us of a great session that most certainly worked out to our advantage!”

Modern Teen Style…..Terry Beigie Photography

A skater girl in a custom pair of Chucks…so fun! Check out today’s feature from Terry Beigie Photography.

Terry describes the session, “Sarah is a talented, smart, funny young lady–and a little shy–with a passion for skateboarding. She just got her longboard right before our session! She likes an edgy, urban feel so we went to the nearest city to us–Charlottesville–on the lookout for cool doorways, parking garages and graffiti. Lucky for us we found it all! She’s headed to high school this month!

We live in a really small country county about 30 minutes from Charlottesville and I do not have many seniors interested in urban sessions. When Sarah was interested in a teen session, she just turned 14, I knew we needed to find a fun way to showcase her interest in skateboarding, but also her edginess. She likes video games and her Batman & The Joker Converse were on point!”

Eye on Fashion….Football Fanatics!

Football season is in full swing…who’s your favorite team?! My team is the Denver Broncos! Where are my Manning fans at?!

Fanatics has an amazing selection of sports apparel, no matter the team (or sport)! As a Manning fan, I naturally chose his jersey. But the selection of ladies’ gear is insane! I love so much of it:)

Modern Teen Style

I love the navy blue jersey…pair it will a Mohican Knit Hat for cooler days:) The selection of Ladies’s tops is amazing! I loved several of them:) The leggings look super warm and comfy…and I can throw all of my game day snacks in the tote bag and head over to a friend’s house for a game day party!

Head on over to http://www.fanatics.com/NFL_Jerseys to plan and purchase your game day ensemble!

Go Broncos!

Modern Teen Style….Terry Beigie Photography

So much goodness wrapped into one session! Take a look at this Sweet 16 meets BFF meets fair shoot from Terry Beigie Photography.

Terry adds, “When I talked with Rachel about doing a Sweet 16 session I knew it had to be fun because she’s a ton of fun–there’s a lot of sparkle in her. Then when the fair came to town–the colors and food and fun–I knew it was time! And what a better way to celebrate a Sweet 16 session than with your best friend (Kenzie) who is also turning 16 this year! We were fighting the possibility of rain, and a need to get home to rest for vacation–not to mention the funny looks we got but we had the most fun!

I have wanted to do a Sweet 16 session for a long time and a fair shoot for a long time. Rachel & I had been talking forever about getting this session done–even before she turned 16–and when the time came we decided to pair it with her best friend for an even wilder time. Both Rachel & Kenzie are fun, outgoing and gorgeous so I wanted their session to be colorful and fun!”

Modern Teen Style….Priscilla Davis Photography and Design

Today’s featured session comes from Priscilla Davis Photography and Design in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love featuring sessions where photographer’s have pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones and tried a little something different.

Priscilla explains, “I wanted to photograph in a place I didn’t know before and as one of my teen models, I LOVED how this wonderful session turned out! Most of my work is usually done in some green/nature setting so this was great to step outside my comfort zone. We were in a shopping center and I found spots that gave a fun fashion feel. I felt like we were out having fun shopping! The wardrobe made this so glam and rockin!

Her makeup and wardrobe let me know where to go. I thought this was very “high style” and we had fun with makeup that wouldn’t be worn everyday. The jean top and the tulle skirt were combined to make an edgy feel and the hot pick in the eyes and the sweater made everything pop! This sweet girl had THE CUTEST personality and we had so much fun laughing and dancing and goofing off. THAT is what a teen session with Priscilla Davis Studio is all about!”
