Now that school is officially in session in many parts of the world, It’s time to start getting that Fall wardrobe ready for wearing. Yes, it’s still plenty hot outside in August, but we’re only a half month from September, and that means cooler mornings and evenings, shorter days, and changes in scenery. For those of us who love Fall photos, we can’t wait to photograph our teens in brightly colored leaves and layered clothing.

Here in Nevada, in the nearby farming communities, one of the first signs of the on-coming season is sunflowers. They grow wild along the roadside, and are plentiful in farmer’s markets. They not only make a gorgeous backdrop for a photo session, but they are also a fun and trendy print to wear. Sunflower print dresses, shorts, and tops were popular in the 80’s, and with much of the 70’s and 80’s fashion coming back onto the runway,  it’s no surprise that they’re trending now. Sunflower printed items can be found in stores like Forever 21, and Charlotte Russe. However, if you’re not quite into the bold print of sunflowers, you can always invoke them through color. Mustard yellow and black pay a nice tribute to the sunflower theme in a more subtle way.  I don’t know about you, but Mustard (sunflower) yellow is one of my favorite fall colors to incorporate into my wardrobe. Seeing little pops of it everywhere is making me excited for the Fall season!

Have you recently incorporated Sunflowers into any of your photography sessions? If so, we want to see! We love to be inspired by the seasons! Share your images with us via email at info@seniorstyleguide for a chance to be featured on the blog. In the meantime, go enjoy the last few weeks of summer while you can!
