First and foremost I want to take a moment to offer my deepest thanks and gratitude to the men and women who have served and/or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. As a military family myself I understand first hand some of the sacrifices that are made to defend this country, and I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for all that you do or did for the United States.
A very happy Veterans Day to you all!

In today’s Eye on Fashion post I’ve got a great little wardrobe staple PERFECT for all body types – and especially perfect for those with hips!

The shift dress!

The silhouette of this dress is great for so many occasions – take it to work, wear it to school, throw it on for a lunch date, or accessorize it for Sunday church – it’s perfect no matter where you take it. And even better? It’s so forgiving on all body shapes that even if you’re having an “I’m really not feeling like wearing anything but sweatpants” kind of day, this style of dress will make you feel like you left the sweatpants on but enable you to LOOK like you tried!

But don’t get this style confused with a “sheath” dress – those are two different cuts and fit two different ways.

A sheath dress is cut with a narrow silhouette and is intended to be more of a body-hugging style (with the hips and bust portion being about the same width across). A shift dress, however, is much more forgiving and is intentionally designed with a wider bottom portion in order to allow the fabric to “shift” while you walk.

So, if you’re like me and have wider hips than your bust line this is a great choice for you!
Super chic, super cute, and super comfy. Does it get any better?
